Collected Information

Newsletter Subscription

The information that we collect from our Newsletter Subscribers is required in compliance with our Server Host according to their anti-spam policy. This information includes the date and time that the subscription was confirmed, as well as the IP address of the subscriber at the time of the subscription, the subscriber’s name (if provided), & the subscriber’s email. This type of information is considered ‘active information’ because the subscriber (you) actively submits that information.

Mailing list subscribers must specifically opt-into our Newsletter and then confirm the Subscription. Confirmation is handled using a single confirmation message sent to the subscriber’s (your) email address.  As a Subscriber, you will always have the option to unsubscribe at any time.

Other Information Collected

We collect general statistics about how our website is used. This includes information like which pages are the most popular, how many people have viewed our website, search statistics, browsers commonly used, where visitors came from, and other basic general information. This is done through the use of publicly available information provided by the visitor’s computer and a computer-cookie that lets us know if a visitor is unique or returning. This is considered ‘passive information’ because it is information that is collected without the need for the visitor/customer (you) to manually provide it.

Use of Customer Information

We do not, and have never, sold, traded or distributed (except where required to by law by law enforcement agencies) the personal information of our customers or newsletter subscribers to any parties outside of Greenhurst Nursery.

We use customer information for the purposes of creating and maintaining individual customer accounts, contacting customers in case of a problem with their account, emailing Newsletters to Subscribers, and to provide technical support if needed. The information we collect when customers complete a transaction is used to arrange for the shipping of items purchased, to personalize gifts, and to help our employees find items that have been marked for in-store pick-up at the Nursery.

We use other general information collected through this website to enhance our website by making it more informative, helpful, and customer-friendly. We do not use this information to identify individuals.
